2015 IBO Series Final

Round 4 and Series Final was done and dusted today.  Bay of Islands Archery Club certainly turned the weather on for what can only be described as "one out of the bag" considering that the weather forcast was for thunderstorms and wind.  Well we have clear blue skies and only a smattering of rain and the day was all done, prize giving for the day completed followed by the Series and we were all heading home at 4.30pm.

The morning round set the challenge for the day and with some good scores coming in most were discussing the deceptive, challenging shots testing their ability to read distance.

Once lunch was finished and Darren had moved most of the pegs round 2 was in full swing.

The day saw top score by Trevor with 580 and in the Juniors Ben Orchard with a 575.

The Series points were added and 2 shoot offs were required - Rob Weenink and Glenn Taylor had equal points for third - after the shoot out Glenn received the 3rd place.  In the Juniors - Luke Dickson and Tyrell Rapana had to shoot out, not once but twice.  Their first arrows were exactly the same distances from the centre - right down to measuring the distance  The second shoot out saw Tyrell squeak ahead of Luke with a very deception 22.5 yards with Tyrell hitting the bottom of the belly and Luke unfortunately went under the target  - Well done Tyrell.

Our thanks to all the Clubs who particpated this year, all the shooters who supported the Series and of course all the teams in the background preparing meals etc.

Our next challenge is the IBO Nationals at Mt Tiger on the 17th and 18th October - all details will be released in the next couple of weeks and we look forward to seeing you all there.

Shoot straight and until the next shoot stay safe.
